Customer Service Program
The Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce has joined together with Business Q Magazine and Human Touch Consulting to sponsor a Customer Service Award for Chamber members. The Award is open to all Chamber members and is intended to bring focus to the importance of customer service and turn customer service into increased sales.
Members can participate in 5 categories: retail, restaurant, financial, consumer services, and medical/dental/health. The deciding factors for the award will be the quality of customer service. Once a business has signed up they will receive a welcome package with the rules and customer service criteria that the performance will be judged on.
Each participating business will be visited three times between April and October 2010. The visits are conducted by Customer Service Evaluators who will pose as regular customers. The evaluators will wear a concealed video camera that records their entire visits.
The use of a concealed video camera gives business owners a unique and very accurate view of their customer service; allowing them to see what customers see when they visit the business. The video also provides a very objective way to evaluate the performance and identify opportunities to improve the customer service performance of the employees.
After each visit, a video clip of the visit, along with a report detailing the performance, will be made available to each participant over the internet. A notification email will be sent out with a user name and password for each participant to view the video and the performance report.
The Awards will then be presented at an Awards Gala on November 19th, hosted by the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce. Each category will receive 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner.

Note: If your business is a restaurant, you agree to reimburse Human Touch, LLC for meals purchased in conjunction with three customer service evaluations between April and October.
